Job summary

KARL STORZ SE & Co. KG is seeking a Sustaining Engineering Manager near the Houston area to lead product sustaining activities and major changes across hardware and software releases.

You will drive cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Leadership to ensure quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience leading complex hardware and/or software development projects.
• Experience with Stage-Gate or structured product development processes.
• Strong project leadership and team management capabilities.
• Ability to mentor, coach, and motivate cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all phases of product sustaining activities and change initiatives from concept to manufacturing release.
• Manage multiple product change projects, schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables.
• Define project strategies and work plans, allocate resources, and assign key roles.
• Collaborate with Engineering Managers to identify Technical Leads for complex software/hardware programs.
• Ensure documentation for regulatory submissions and compliance is completed on time.
