Our client in Marlboro, MA is seeking a Sustaining Engineer for a direct hire, onsite role. Key focus areas include sustaining engineering, RCCA/CAPA, and robust documentation control to ensure stable production and continuous improvement.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Product Engineering (or related) and 2–4 years of hands-on experience in mechanical or electromechanical systems, with SolidWorks CAD and GD&T proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Product Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 2–4 years of sustaining/manufacturing/mechanical/product engineering experience with hands-on assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Experience in RCCA, CAPA, PFMEA, 8D or similar structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks 3D CAD and 2D drafting, including GD&T and ASME Y14.5, with configuration-control and released-product documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support LightWELD sustaining engineering activities for released products and daily manufacturing needs.
• Lead or support troubleshooting, failure analysis, and root-cause/corrective action for manufacturing, assembly, test, supplier, and service issues.
• Own sustaining engineering changes, ECOs, drawings, BOM updates, configuration control, deviations, and documentation releases for production stability.
• Partner with production, quality, supply chain, service, optomechanical, electrical, and software teams to improve assembly methods, test processes, yields, throughput, and product consistency.
• Create and revise SolidWorks models, drawings, fixtures, and work instructions, ensuring GD&T, ASME Y14.5 compliance and proper configuration-management.
