Job summary

Enerco Group Inc. in Cleveland, OH, is seeking a Sustaining Engineer to lead engineering changes from identification through implementation.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Compliance, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Sourcing to drive product improvements, cost reductions, and obsolescence management. The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related field, hands-on CAD (SolidWorks) and measurement tools, and strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience with 3D CAD; SolidWorks experience.
• Hands-on experience using engineering and laboratory equipment, including calipers, micrometers, multimeters, and other measurement/test equipment.
• Experience supporting engineered products in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis capability.
• Basic electrical/electromechanical knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with verification and validation testing and technical documentation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the engineering change leader for sustaining engineering projects, including design corrections and omissions, quality improvements, cost reductions, BOM changes, supplier changes, manufacturing improvements, and component obsolescence.
• Ensure that engineering drawings are complete and accurate for quality inspection.
• Manage engineering changes from initial identification through technical evaluation, design/documentation updates, verification and validation, cross-functional approval, implementation, and closure.
• Coordinate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs/ECRs) and associated activities, ensuring affected drawings, specifications, bills of material, work instructions, test requirements, certifications, and other controlled documentation are appropriately updated.
• Evaluate proposed product and component changes for potential impact to product performance, safety, reliability, cost, manufacturability, compliance, and certification.
• Support applicable regulatory, safety, and product certification requirements when changes may affect existing approvals or certifications.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, bills of material, specifications, test procedures, and other technical documentation associated with assigned changes.
• Manage and report quarterly Change Control KPI’s and metrics, identify performance trends and improvement opportunities, and implement actions to achieve established objectives.
• Travel to suppliers, manufacturing facilities, test laboratories, and other locations as required to support engineering activities (limited travel).
