Job summary

Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM) invites motivated students to join its Summer Internship Program in architecture, structural and sustainable engineering, urban planning, graphic design, or interior design. The internship runs from June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027, with opportunities to learn from experts and contribute to world-class design projects.

Open to current students planning careers in design disciplines; compensation ranges from $30/hour to $32/hour, with a deadline of January 18,

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s or master’s program in structural engineering or related field and returning to school Fall 2027.
• Exhibits initiative, problem solving, and high attention to precision for task-specific work.
• Able to follow timelines, seek guidance when needed, and escalate when required.

Responsibilities

• Spend the summer learning from experts across design disciplines and building design/visualization skills.
• Participate in a wide range of in-person and virtual learning opportunities and events.
• Contribute to world-class design projects under supervision.
