Job summary

Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) invites students in architecture, structural and sustainable engineering, urban planning, graphic design, and interior design to participate in its Summer Internship Program. Six weeks of in-person and virtual learning, with mentors and world-class design projects, running June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027.

Applicants must be returning to school Fall 2027, provide work samples, and the compensation for internships is hourly at $25–$27.

Qualifications

• Current student in an accredited bachelor's program or master's degree program in architecture or related field of study and returning to school in the Fall of 2027.
• Some experience in the architectural profession or associated arts.
• Strong design capabilities as demonstrated in portfolio or work samples.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino and visualization software.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
