Job summary

NAACP Empowerment Programs, Inc. seeks a Fellow, Sustainable Community Development, Environmental Climate and Justice in a remote-capable role serving DC-area communities.

The fellow will help shape programming, guide campaigns, and provide policy-oriented support across the Center for Environmental and Climate Justice. The position emphasizes collaboration with the Director, strong research and writing output, and building strategic relationships with foundations and governmental partners to

Qualifications

• Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication across diverse audiences.
• Experience in external partnerships with foundations, nonprofits, and coalitions.
• Proven ability to coordinate complex advocacy strategy and programs.
• Background in civil rights, community or movement-based advocacy, and environmental justice.
• Proven project management and grant reporting capabilities.
• Ability to support innovative research and engage broad audiences.

Responsibilities

• Serve as content expert for environmental and climate justice within the Center for Environmental and Climate Justice.
• Develop strategic initiatives, manage campaigns, and coordinate grants and reporting.
• Lead partnerships with foundations, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Produce research briefs, public comments, blog posts, and policy communications.
• Coach and coordinate a nimble team; drive continuous improvement and learning.
