Wight & Company in Darien, IL is hiring a Building Performance Engineer to optimize energy efficiency, daylighting, and overall performance of our buildings. You will analyze designs, run simulations, and propose energy conservation measures in collaboration with architects and engineers across the project lifecycle.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in mechanical engineering or Building Science with 3+ years in energy modeling; PE license is preferred and LEED/BEMP credentials are a plus.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or Building Science; master's preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of building performance analysis or energy modeling experience.
• Strong knowledge of energy codes and standards (IECC, ASHRAE, LEED).
• Proficient in building energy modeling software (IES, THERM, Light Stanza, WUFI, C-Scale).
• Proficient in Revit. Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze building system design (HVAC, lighting, envelope, controls) for energy savings and performance.
• Use building simulation tools for early box modeling and detailed performance assessments.
• Recommend energy conservation measures and sustainable design strategies.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to study passive design options.
• Provide building performance analysis for project certification (LEED, Net Zero, Passive House).
• Support calculations for Wight Sustainability Standard, AIA 2030 & MEP 2040.
