Job summary

The Extension Associate for Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education will be located on the LSU campus in Baton Rouge and serve stakeholders statewide. This half-time, grant-funded position supports the SARE PDP, with 20 hours per week in the office.

Under the supervision of the Co-State Coordinators, the successful candidate will assist with field days, trainings, workshops, outreach, and promotion of SARE programs and grants.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's of Science degree is required, preferably in agriculture, earth, or environmental sciences.
• Experience in agriculture and horticulture is desirable with grant writing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field days, trainings, and workshops.
• Coordinate travel to regional conferences and manage travel budgets.
• Promote SARE programs, resources, and grant opportunities.
• Maintain SARE listserve, website, and communications with partners.
• Support outreach and networking with county agents and NGOs.
