Job description

Locus Environmental (Locus) has an immediate opening for a full‑time environmental professional in our sustainability services group. The position entails providing sustainability services under state greenhouse gas reporting programs, state low‑carbon (clean) fuels reporting and crediting programs, and corporate climate data disclosure programs. This is a challenging position that requires learning and applying a breadth of state carbon regulations, evaluating or building models of facility energy inputs and carbon emissions under state regulations, preparing transactions and fuel pathway compliance reports and credit balances, and providing effective direct communication with colleagues, regulators, and clients. This position involves a variety of projects and opportunities for growth as you contribute to and explore the exciting and rapidly growing sustainability market space. Based on the interest and skills of the candidate, this position may additionally entail participation in sustainability program management including interpretation of scope requirements, proposal preparation, conflict of interest tracking and reporting, as well as business development, sales, and marketing in the sustainability space.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for participation in the growing and dynamic decarbonization sector with prior exposure to greenhouse gas emissions reporting, corporate climate disclosure, cap‑and‑trade compliance, low carbon fuels modeling, life cycle analysis, fuel transactions reporting, credit accounting, or related areas. The candidate will have an educational background in the sciences or environmental engineering and some prior work experience providing sustainability or related services in the carbon sector. Lead Verifier accreditation under the California Air Resources Board’s Greenhouse Gas (GHG) program is a plus but not a requirement.

Travel is required and will vary depending on regulatory requirements and client locations.
