Your role

As Sustainability Officer, you will contribute to the further professionalization and integration of the social and sustainability policy of the Pro League and its clubs. You will be part of the Public Affairs team and will form the connecting link between the internal organization, the clubs, and external partners.

  • Implementing the Pro League's sustainability strategy, with a focus on inclusion, well-being, and ecological sustainability
  • Converting existing policy objectives and action plans into concrete, measurable, and achievable actions for the Pro League and the clubs
  • Supporting and guiding clubs in the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives (e.g., through consultations, tools, and workshops)
  • Monitoring relevant regulations, licensing conditions, and social expectations
  • Working towards a more comprehensive reporting, monitoring, and evaluation of sustainability actions
  • Collaborating with Public Affairs and MARCOM colleagues to ensure internal and external communication on sustainability and social issues
  • Supporting and expanding our network of relevant partners (sports federations, governments, civil society organizations, experts) and our collaborations.
Who are we looking for?
  • We are looking for a motivated professional with initial work experience who combines a passion for football with an interest in sustainability and social issues within sport.
  • You have a master's or bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, sustainability policy, sports management, communication, etc.).
  • Themes such as inclusion, well-being, sustainability, and/or corporate social responsibility are not just empty words to you. You have an active interest in and vision for the interplay between sport and society.
  • Knowledge of or affinity with football and/or sports organizations is obviously an asset.
  • Your work is structured, you can manage several projects at the same time.
  • Your are a good communicator, listener, and active learner. You can easily switch between policy and practice.
  • You enjoy working in a team but can also work independently.
  • You are hands‑on and versatile: you can design and implement a project from start to finish.
  • You are not afraid to take initiative: making phone calls, organizing meetings, or asking colleagues for advice is no problem for you.
  • The Pro League has clubs from the coast to the East Cantons. To communicate smoothly with all clubs, you switch easily from Dutch to French and back. Knowledge of English is a plus.
What do we offer
  • A substantively interesting and socially relevant position within Belgian professional football.
  • The opportunity to contribute to the sustainability of Belgian professional football.
