Job summary

Johnsonville invites interns or co‑ops to join its sustainability team for hands‑on projects and real contributions. You will work in a team environment, leveraging your knowledge and creativity to support ESG initiatives and metrics reporting.

You will collaborate with a coach, participate in committees covering packaging, regulatory/compliance, and decarbonization, and gain exposure to diverse sustainability activities within a global company.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in sustainability or environmental field.
• GPA 3.5 minimum preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ESG metrics gathering and reporting.
• Participate in sustainability committees/workstreams (packaging, regulatory/compliance, decarbonization).
• Support ad hoc ESG-related projects as needed.
• Work closely with a coach to maximize internship experience.

Position Overview

Join Johnsonville’s sustainability team for a summer you’ll never forget! We know that your internship experience will provide you with valuable knowledge and quality experience.

Responsibilities

Internship responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

• Assist with strategic target / goal setting.
• Gather responses and report on the ESG metrics defined in the Meat Institute’s Protein Pact.
• Participate in sustainability-related committees / workstreams (sustainable packaging, regulatory / compliance, decarbonization, etc.).
• Ad hoc ESG-related projects as necessary.
• Work closely with your assigned coach, who will mentor you and help further enhance your internship experience.

Education

• Candidate must currently be working towards a Bachelor’s degree in sustainability or an environmental‑related field from an accredited university (junior or senior status preferred).
• 3.5 minimum GPA strongly preferred.

Experience

• Some prior work experience preferred.

Skills

• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with others.
• Desire to learn, grow and contribute in a team‑based environment.
• Quick learner with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Be able to handle working on multiple projects concurrently.
• Must possess a drive for excellence.
