Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Sustainability Intern to join the Environmental Home Office in Omaha, NE (remote option available). You will support regulatory research, data collection and analysis, and assist with training and tools that track sustainability performance.

As an intern, you will work part-time, 30-40 hours in summer and 5-20 hours during the school year, gaining real-world experience at one of North America's largest construction and engineering organizations.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Environmental Science or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Detail oriented, flexible and highly motivated.
• Strong work ethic and professional demeanor.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work 30-40 hours in the summer and 5-20 hours during the school year.
• Willingness to travel, as needed.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Team player but able to work independently to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support the Home Office Environmental department with regulatory research
• Keep abreast of sustainability legislation, news, and regulations and conduct regulatory research development
• Assist with conference calls and training
• Assist with electronic solutions and data input to track company sustainability performance
• Assist with preparation and presentation of environmental training
• Assist with corporate Greenhouse Gas Inventory and other sustainability metric development around waste, water, and biodiversity
• Overall department support and duties as assigned
