Job summary

Getinge is seeking a Sustainability Engineer I in Wayne, NJ, to advance lifecycle assessments, carbon accounting, and environmental reporting across product development, operations, and supply chain. This defined-term role supports cross-functional teams to meet regulatory requirements and drive data-driven decisions.

The position emphasizes ecodesign, supplier sustainability, and compliance with REACH, RoHS, and other standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with sustainability, lifecycle assessment methodologies, carbon accounting principles, supplier sustainability programs, and environmental impact reduction strategies.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and standards, including REACH, RoHS, California Prop 65, ISO 14001.
• Understanding of sustainability reporting and regulations like CSRD, CBAM, ESPR, DEPR, EPR.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support LCA, PEF analyses, and other environmental impact assessments to identify improvement opportunities.
• Assist with development and maintenance of Scope 1-3 GHG inventories and emissions reporting.
• Collect, validate, analyze, and maintain sustainability data for reporting and KPI tracking.
• Support integration of ecodesign, sustainable materials, and environmental improvements into product development.
• Assist supplier sustainability activities including assessments and data collection.
• Support environmental compliance and product stewardship per applicable regulations and standards.
• Monitor regulations and reporting frameworks and evaluate potential business impacts.
• Develop and maintain sustainability metrics, dashboards, and data tools for performance monitoring.
• Provide project management support for sustainability initiatives.
