Job summary

Kahala Brands, Ltd. is seeking a Sustainability Coordinator to support the ESG team in research, data analysis, and implementation of sustainable development initiatives at our Scottsdale corporate headquarters.

You will help identify needs, validate ESG-related requirements, and improve data tools to increase efficiency. The role emphasizes collaboration with brands and departments, data collection, and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environment Studies, Sustainability, or related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Power BI; ability to build dashboards.
  • Teamwork with high ethical standards and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and manage priorities.
  • 3–5 years of sustainability experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with departments to collect, process, and validate data on sustainable development.
  • Improve data collection processes and tools for ESG projects.
  • Prepare research reports, analyses, dashboards, and meeting minutes for ESG initiatives.
  • Track compliance with global EPR and packaging regulations.
  • Participate in ESG Committee meetings and build relationships with US and Canada stakeholders.

POSITION SUMMARY:

You will support the ESG team as an individual contributor by collaborating on the research, analyzing, and following up on various projects related to sustainable development. You will support the implementation of best practices by working in collaboration with our brands and departments to identify, analyze and validate ESG-related needs. Your role will also include the improvement of existing tools to increase the efficiency of the ESG department's data collection. You will also carry out research on various sustainability topics and analyze reports for the Director of Sustainability.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Act as a resource person by collaborating with the various departments for the collection, processing and validation of data related to sustainable development.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance existing data collection processes and tools.
  • Conduct and provide, as required, research reports, data analysis, periodic comparisons, and benchmarking exercises on various topics related to our sustainable development projects (dashboard, graphs, reports, and minutes).
  • Establish operational workflows to track, analyze, and maintain adherence to global EPR and packaging regulations.
  • Apply and ensure compliance with selected reporting standards and industry procedures; may be called upon to collaborate, through research, on legislation and regulations.
  • Participate in meetings with the ESG Committee.
  • Build and maintain strong business relationships with key stakeholders in the United States and Canada.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environment Studies, Sustainability, or Administration with a concentration in Sustainable Development, or another related field.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel (calculation formulas and pivot tables) and Power BI.
  • Ability to create dashboards.
  • Strong teamwork skills and a high standard of ethics.
  • Strong analytical, synthesizing and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders while effectively managing priorities and ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Demonstrate self-discipline, proactively take initiative, and maintain a results-oriented approach.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
  • Experience in the franchise or food industry.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Sustainability
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to work at a desk and spend extended periods of time looking at a computer screen.
  • Ability to maintain focus for prolonged periods of time.
