Job summary

The City of Hallandale Beach seeks an experienced professional to advance its Sustainability Action Plan, Climate Action Plan, and resilience initiatives. You will manage education, public programs, and departmental coordination, reporting progress to city leadership and commissioners.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field, 5+ years in green initiatives, and a valid Florida driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Public Administration, Urban Planning, or related field.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in green initiatives, sustainability programs, energy programs, resiliency, environmental quality.
• Master's degree in environmental science/studies or environmental education with LEED AP designation is preferred.
• Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification or obtain within one year of employment.
• Must have a valid Florida driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Implement sustainability actions in Citywide plans and climate resilience programs.
• Coordinate messaging, education, public programming, planning, reporting, branding, and promotion.
• Coordinate and manage projects related to sustainability and climate resilience; act as project coordinator for ordinance revisions and plan integration.
• Identify funding opportunities and analyze ROI; produce annual report for City Manager and City Commissioners.
• Work under Grants Manager with some initiative and independent judgment.
