Job summary

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners seeks an Environmental Project Coordinator to support the Environmental Permitting Division, coordinating large-scale environmental programs, research, planning, permitting, data analysis and compliance to ensure timely project delivery.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in related environmental fields, two years in environmental programs with one year in a lead role, and a valid Florida driver's license.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in environmental planning, environmental science, biology, ecology, natural resources management or closely related field.
• Requires two years in environmental/natural resource programs, including one year of lead work/supervisory experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E driver's license for duration of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day operation of the Aquatic and Wetland Resources (AWR) Program and the State-delegated Environmental Resource Permitting Program.
• Coordinates with multiple programs and agencies to ensure timely review and issuance of permits.
• Trains staff on Environmental Resource License processes and ensures compliance with county and state regulations.
• Develops manuals, guidelines, and procedures for implementing environmental resource programs; assists in updating rules and regulations.
