Job summary

The City of Encinitas Development Services Department is seeking a Sustainability Analyst to support climate action, energy resources, and sustainability programs. The role involves policy development, data analysis, grant research, and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental science or policy, planning, public policy, public administration, or related field.
• 1–2 years of sustainability related professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of green building and energy efficiency is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Participate in development and implementation of plans, programs, policies, budgets, and projects related to sustainability and climate action.
• Gather information, analyze data, identify requirements and trends, and present findings.
• Develop written, verbal, and graphic communication materials including staff reports, presentations, websites, and social media content.
• Maintain stakeholder relationships and partnerships in environment, energy, climate, and sustainability.
• Collaborate with City staff and external stakeholders to advance sustainability initiatives.
• Research grants and funding opportunities; assist with grant applications and reporting.
