Job summary

BWI Group seeks a Technical Sales Engineer — Suspension to bridge engineering and commercial teams across the OEM landscape, concentrating on passive dampers, struts, corner modules, and semi-active/adaptive damping systems.

You will drive RFQ responses, develop cost models, negotiate terms, and ensure program profitability through all lifecycle stages while coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, and finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Three to seven years of combined experience in automotive sales, applications engineering, program management, or product engineering with customer exposure.
• Working knowledge of automotive chassis or suspension systems and the vehicle development process.
• Experience supporting or leading RFQ responses, cost modeling, or commercial negotiations with an OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
• Familiarity with automotive supply chain, OEM sourcing practices, and program timing gateways (APQP, PPAP, SOP).
• Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical and commercial content to senior audiences.
• Valid driver’s license and a valid passport, or the ability to obtain one, for domestic and international travel.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the day-to-day technical and commercial point of contact for assigned OEM accounts.
• Develop and maintain an account plan for each customer, including roadmaps and targets.
• Identify and qualify new business opportunities for suspension products.
• Represent the voice of the customer inside BWI.
