Ideal candidates are organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, guest-focused Japanese dining environment. This role reports to the Kitchen Manager / Executive Chef and offers $20 per hour plus tips, with both full-time and part-time options.

Qualifications

• Prior kitchen or food prep experience preferred but not required.
• Basic knife skills and food handling knowledge.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude and willingness to take on tasks proactively.
• Food Handler's Certification.

Responsibilities

• Wash, peel, chop, and portion vegetables, fruits, and proteins according to kitchen standards.
• Prepare sauces, dressings, and other basic components as directed.
• Assist with stock rotation and ingredient inventory management.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas and storage.
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures diligently.
• Support chefs and line cooks by ensuring timely prep of ingredients.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as needed.
• Washing and seasoning sushi rice.
• Cleaning various fish and seafood.
• Adhere to all kitchen safety and hygiene protocols.
