The Role
The Multnomah Athletic Club is looking for a Sushi Line Cook to join our Food & Beverage team. Line Cooks are responsible for the daily preparation of high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner. This individual will work in a station in the kitchen as scheduled by the Executive Chef and execute all related duties of that station.
What You'll Do
- Prepares and fabricates items for use in the kitchen according to established recipes and procedures.
- Stores product as received and rotates stock according to established procedures.
- Maintains coolers and storage areas and ensures cleanliness, sanitation and organization of all areas.
- Keeps workstation clean, sanitary and orderly in accordance with health department regulations.
- Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
- Follows recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications as established by the Executive Chef.
- Restocks all items as needed throughout shift.
- Prepares dishes for members and guests with food allergies and intolerances.
- Works at an efficient and consistent pace.
- Complies with all Club safety policies and procedures demonstrating safe work practices. Identifies and reports unsafe or hazardous work conditions. Reports all workplace injuries and illnesses to supervisor.
Promotes the MAC code of conduct in club activities and demonstrates the importance of providing quality service to members.
Other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
- Ability to work at least one station on the line successfully.
- Ability to take direction and work in a team environment.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Ability to communicate effectively in verbal form.
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers.
- One year of line cook experience in a similar environment.
- Possession of valid food-handler’s permit.
- Understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
- Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
