Job summary

Hai Hospitality is hiring Sushi Chefs for the Uchi Newport Beach location on Mariner’s Mile (2510 West Coast Highway). Orientation is planned for the end of November with a late December 2026 opening. Compensation ranges from $21 to $25 per hour base pay plus tips, with an average of $27-$48 per hour including tips.

Qualifications

• Must communicate with guests and other employees
• Stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Operate in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
• Follow safety guidelines and proper sanitation
• Maintain a neat, organized workspace

Responsibilities

• Acquaint yourself with our menu and Japanese cuisine
• Learn sushi techniques under Chef teams
• Interact with guests at the sushi bar, take orders, explain dishes
• Learn sushi stations and progress in knowledge and skills
• Collaborate with teams to create items for specials and core menu
