Hai Hospitality Uchiko is accepting applications for Sushi Chefs. In this role, you will serve as a vital member of our team to enrich the culinary and service experience for our guests. We offer gainful employment.

Sushi Chefs make an average of $25 per hour (hourly base rate + tips) as well as great opportunities to grow with the organization long‑term. We are currently offering a $1,250 sign‑on bonus (payable after 90 days following the completion of training).

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively with guests and other employees.
• Lift and carry trays, dishes, equipment, and goods up to 50 lbs, stock inventory, and perform restocking duties.
• Must have the ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Tolerate exposure to potential allergens and food odors.

Responsibilities

• Acquaint yourself with our menu, current specials, and Japanese cuisine.
• Learn and perfect your sushi techniques under the guidance of our skilled Chef teams.
• Understand proper handling and waste reduction of product.
• Interact with guests at the sushi bar; take orders, explain dishes, and cultivate an amazing experience for yourself and the guest.
• Learn our various sushi stations and progress as your knowledge and skills grows.
• Collaborate with our teams to create dishes that will be showcased on our specials page and core menu.
