Job summary

Legal Aid Of West Virginia seeks a motivated attorney for the Survivor Re-entry role, funded by a DOJ grant. The attorney will provide direct legal services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and dating violence who have recently been released from prison and are under post-conviction supervision.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable commitment to low-income clients.
• J.D. and WV admission or eligible to take WV Bar Exam.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct legal services to victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and dating violence recently released from prison and under post-conviction supervision.
• Assist survivors with protective and personal safety orders, family law, housing and public benefits issues, expungement and driver's license reinstatement.
• Serve clients in Cabell, Clay, Boone, Kanawha, Lincoln, Mason, Putnam and Wayne counties.
• Collaborate with partners to implement the project and conduct community training at parole centers or other locales.
