Description
Patriot Enterprises provides support to the Army National Guard (ARNG) through Military Funeral Honors (MFH) and Survivor Outreach Services (SOS), assisting geographically dispersed service members and families. The SOS Regional Coordinators oversee and coordinate activities of the Coordinators within their regions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all SOS State Coordinators in each state/territory maintain and update activities in the systems of record.
- Verify that SOS State Coordinators accurately enter work time into the contract timekeeping system, request travel authorization, and submit travel expense reports as required.
- Ensure all SOS State Coordinators are properly trained for their tasks.
- Mentor and advise staff on program understanding and compliance with Army, NGB, State NG, and IMCOM guidance and regulations.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in business, management, or related field.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 3 years of relevant experience providing military funeral honors, information, assistance, outreach, referral, and follow-up services to Families and survivors from all service components.
- Strong sense of mission, focus, knowledge, and resourcefulness related to SOS.
- Experience ensuring SOS State Coordinators provide Families and survivors with financial counseling, emotional support, and connections to resources.
- Emotional maturity, tact, and attentive listening skills.
- Ability to identify resources to assist Families and survivors with benefits, referrals for bereavement counseling, and navigating programs like VA benefits, TRICARE, and educational opportunities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, especially in sensitive situations.
- Ability to build rapport with Families, VSOs, CAOs, military leadership, and other stakeholders.
- Proficiency in managing, training, mentoring, and advising SOS State Coordinators.
- Skill in maintaining and expanding resource directories.
- Ability to produce reports and analyze data.
- Knowledge of Army, NGB, State NG, and IMCOM policies, regulations, and SOPs.
- Understanding of ARNG organization, structure, and military culture.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Self-motivated with good time management skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to pass extensive background checks.
