Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a candidate for a Surveying / Subsurface Utility Engineering drafting role. You will convert engineering sketches into plans using AutoCAD or MicroStation for projects across the United States.

Essential functions include basic engineering computations, drafting corrections, and preparing exhibits for reports or meetings. A high school diploma and valid driver’s license are required; TN visa sponsorship is limited.

Qualifications

Position Summary: Responsible for preparing plans from the provided engineering sketches and details for projects.

Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Compensation for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hourly, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. Required Skills

• Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
• Valid Driver’s License
• Able to pass Background Check

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Microstation
• Knowledge of design and drafting procedures

Preferred Experience

• Technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting
• Experience in preparing plans related to Transportation projects

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
