Job summary

Primoris Services Corporation is seeking a Surveyor Party Chief in Texas to lead a field crew in collecting accurate survey data for construction and infrastructure projects. You will plan tasks, supervise crew, and ensure compliance with project specs and safety protocols.

The role requires proficiency with total stations, GPS, levels, data collectors, and CAD tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D; strong communication with engineers and clients; and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of land surveying experience, with at least 2 years as Party Chief or lead surveyor.
• Proficiency with modern surveying gear (Trimble, Leica, Topcon).
• Strong understanding of survey principles, calculations, and drawings interpretation.
• Valid driver's license with clean record; ability to work outdoors in varied conditions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and direct a survey crew and assign tasks.
• Operate and maintain surveying equipment (total stations, GPS, levels, data collectors).
• Conduct boundary, topographic, construction staking, and as-built surveys.
• Interpret engineering plans, plats, and legal descriptions.
• Process and verify survey data; maintain field notes and sketches.

Job Responsibilities \\* Plan, organize, and direct the work of a survey crew, including assigning tasks and ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety protocols. \\* Operate and maintain a variety of surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS receivers, levels, and data collectors. \\* Perform boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, as-built surveys, and other types of land surveys. \\* Interpret and understand engineering plans, plats, and legal descriptions. \\* Collect, process, and verify survey data, ensuring accuracy and completeness. \\* Maintain accurate field notes, sketches, and other documentation. \\* Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders. \\* Troubleshoot and resolve field-related issues. \\* Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations. \\* Train and mentor junior survey crew members. \\* Responsible for the care and maintenance of company vehicles and equipment.
