Job summary

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber is seeking a Surveyor in Cincinnati, OH to support topographic mapping, construction staking, and boundary/control surveying. The role involves operating modern survey equipment, interpreting plans, and documenting field data.

You will contribute to boundary, topographic, right-of-way, and as-built surveys using AutoCAD Civil 3D. The ideal candidate has an associate degree in Surveying (or related) and 3+ years of experience, with proficiency in Word/Excel.

Working with our Survey team, you will support topographic mapping, construction staking, and boundary/control surveying using conventional survey equipment, robotic total stations, and GPS.

What You'll Do

• Adjust and operate modern survey equipment.
• Read and interpret construction plans and specifications to perform construction staking and layout.
• Record survey measurements and descriptive data using notes, drawings, and sketches.
• Perform property research and collect field data to execute boundary surveys.
• Process survey data and create boundary, topographic, right-of-way, and as-built surveys for use with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Report directly to a Senior Professional Land Surveyor.

What We're Looking For

• Associate degree in Surveying or Civil Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience required; bachelor's degree in Surveying or Engineering preferred.
• 3+ years of related surveying experience.
• Ability to work independently on project sites while complying with applicable safety requirements.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs., walk or stand for extended periods, and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and climbing. Good vision, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness are essential.
