Job Details

The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Public Buildings, seeks a Surveyor (Architectural). The Surveyor will conduct condition assessments in City-owned buildings for the Asset Information Management System (AIMS) program of the Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Responsibilities include inspecting and assessing the physical condition of building components, recording existing conditions, and preparing facility assessment reports.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State Registration as an Architect
• Six (6) years of full-time paid experience in architectural work, including at least two (2) years as an administrative architect
• Understanding of building construction methods, especially older buildings from the 19th and 20th centuries
• At least 5 years of relevant field inspection experience
• Ability to conduct site visits in various building environments
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Valid motor vehicle driver’s license

Additional Information

This position is open to qualified persons with a disability under the 55-a Program. Residency in New York City is not required. The salary range is $60,443.00 – $80,785.00.
