Job summary

Crowder Construction Company is seeking an experienced Surveyor to perform site surveying and plant layout, ensuring drawings and specifications are met. The role requires NC licensure, proficiency with total stations, AutoCAD, and Carlson Software, plus experience in field problem solving and coordination with Project Engineers.

Primary function of a Surveyor:

Responsible for site surveying and treatment plant site layout. Provides technical information to the site superintendent to ensure compliancewith all drawings and specifications. Establish exterior-interior grade and working lines for contractors or crafts. Assist in the evaluation of potential dimensions and other field problems, referring them to the Project Engineer.

Duties of a Surveyor:

Organization

• Adhere to schedule given by Superintendent and Foreman
• Keep all drawings and RFIs updated (office and field sets)

Leadership

• Work closely with Superintendent and Foreman to coordinate job layout
• Must work with and train rodmen
• Assist subcontractors with layout drawings
• Coordinate with subcontractors on layout needs
• Adhere to safety policies and identify violations

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of related education or equivalent surveyor experience preferred
• North Carolina Professional Land-Surveyor Certification,required
• Proficient in total station and applicable software
• Experience with figuring quantities such as concrete, rock, and dirt
• Experience with As-Built built drawings
• Experience with AutoCAD
• Experience with Carlson Software
• Figuring coordinates
• Experience with using level/and or laser for shooting grades
