Job summary

Crowder Construction Company is seeking a Field Engineer to perform site surveying and layout for treatment plants, coordinating with the Project Engineer to ensure drawings and specifications are followed. You will establish exterior-interior grade and assist in evaluating field problems.

Responsibilities include adhering to superintendent schedules, coordinating with subs for layout, training rodmen, and maintaining safety standards across multi-state projects as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of related education or equivalent experience preferred.
North Carolina Professional Land-Surveyor Certification, required.
Proficient in total station and applicable software (AutoCAD, Carlson).
Experience with figuring quantities (concrete, rock, dirt) and As-Built drawings.

Responsibilities

Adhere to schedule given by Superintendent and Foreman.
Coordinate job layout with Superintendent, Foreman and subcontractors.
Train rodmen and assist subcontractors with layout drawings.
Adhere to safety policies and identify violations.

Primary Function of a Field Engineer

Responsible for site surveying and treatment plant site layout. Provides technical information to the site superintendent to ensure compliance with all drawings and specifications. Establish exterior-interior grade and working lines for contractors or crafts. Assist in the evaluation of potential dimensions and other field problems, referring them to the Project Engineer.

Duties

Organization
- Adhere to schedule given by Superintendent and Foreman
- Keep all drawings and RFIs updated (office and field sets)
Leadership
- Work closely with Superintendent and Foreman to coordinate job layout
- Must work with and train rodmen
- Assist subcontractors with layout drawings
- Coordinate with subcontractors on layout needs
- Adhere to safety policies and identify violations
