Job summary

LJA Surveying, a leading employee-owned firm, is seeking a Project Surveyor to oversee field operations, manage technical staff, and drive map research and project delivery. You will coordinate with architects, engineers, and PMs to integrate survey data into plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

The role demands a Licensed Professional Surveyor with 10+ years of progressive experience, plus 2+ years post-registration, strong communication, and client-relations skills.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Professional Surveyor with current certification.
  • Minimum 10 years' progressive industry experience.
  • Minimum 2+ years post-registration experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication; ability to build client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise field operations, technical and drafting staff.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers and PMs to integrate survey data.
  • Use advanced equipment and software to collect and analyze data.

POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Project Surveyor at LJA Surveying, you will be responsible for supervision of field operations, technical and drafting staff, deed and map research and project management.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

  • Responsible for supervision of field operations, technical and drafting staff, deed and map research, and project management.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to integrate survey data into project plans.
  • Use advanced equipment (e.g., total stations, GPS, 3D scanners) and software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) to collect and analyze data
  • Responsible for boundary survey calculations, analysis, and final map checking, abstracting title data, and client relations.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Professional Licensed Surveyor

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10 years of progressive experience in the industry
  • 2+ years of experience after registration
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external clients
