Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in Oklahoma City is seeking a Survey Technician Intern for Summer 2027. You will assist field staff on topographic/boundary surveys and learn to operate robotic total stations, GPS, drones, and LiDAR scanning.

You will gain hands-on experience collecting survey data, searching boundary evidence, and performing basic computations while working outdoors in varied terrain with mentorship from experienced professionals.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an Associates or Bachelors in Survey program.
• Prior internship and/or survey experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Overview

As a Survey Technician Intern at Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), in our Oklahoma City, OK office, you will join a growing survey team providing professional survey services on a wide variety of projects. Through this internship, you will have the opportunity to obtain hands‑on experience in the survey profession.

As a Survey Technician Intern, you will:

• Assist experienced survey field staff performing work on topographic and boundary surveys, route surveys, stream surveys, and construction stakeouts
• Gain exposure to progressive technology including robotic total stations, GPS, Unmanned Aerial Systems (drones), and LiDAR scanning
• Learn to collect survey data and search for boundary evidence while working in a variety of terrain and outdoor conditions
• Perform physical tasks such as setting stakes and monuments, clearing brush, and laden hiking
• Utilize surveying software applications to gather, retrieve and interpret important data, and perform fundamental survey computations

Through the CEC Internship Program, you will:

• Acquire practical experience applying knowledge from college courses, learn from industry experts, and collaborate with teams across functional groups and locations
• Develop a robust professional network through social events and interactive activities
• Collaborate closely with a mentor in your discipline to tackle real‑world challenges
• Participate in workshops to help foster interpersonal skills within the workplace and prepare students for success in their full‑time careers

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an Associates or Bachelors in Survey program, or related field of study preferred
• Prior internship and/or survey experience a plus
• Possession of sufficient physical stamina to work outdoors under various field conditions
• Occasional travel may be required
• Valid Driver's License
