Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC in Phoenix is seeking a field technician to support a field crew in daily operations, gathering data for boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys.

Qualifications

  • Valid, current driver’s license required.
  • One year industry experience.
  • Knowledge of land surveying practices and basic computations.
  • Able to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions.
  • Available to travel/stay out of town as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Support field crew data collection for boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.
  • Assist in completion of field surveys under the supervision of a Crew Chief.
  • Operate land survey equipment (robotic total stations, GNSS receivers, data radios/modems, 3D laser scanners, levels).
  • Use survey controllers and software to collect geospatial data and perform computations.
  • Read and interpret maps and plans.
  • Maintain neat field notes with measurements under supervision.
  • Load/unload trucks with survey equipment and supplies.
  • Clean and maintain survey equipment, tools, and vehicle.
  • Follow company safety procedures, policies, and practices.
  • Travel to project locations; per diem as applicable.

Responsibilities
  • Use a variety of land survey instruments to support a field crew in their daily operations to gather data for various surveys including boundary, topographic, and construction layout
  • Assist in completion of field surveys under the supervision of a Crew Chief; communicate progress and address problems
  • Operate land survey equipment including robotic total stations, GNSS receivers, data radios/modems, terrestrial 3D laser scanners, automatic and digital levels
  • Utilize survey controllers and software to collect geospatial data and perform survey computations
  • Read and interpret various types of maps and plans
  • Complete neat and orderly field notes with accurate measurements for land survey operations with supervision from Crew Chief
  • Load and unload trucks with land survey equipment and supplies
  • Clean and maintain land survey equipment, tools, and vehicle
  • Follow company safety procedures, policies, and practices
  • Ability to travel out of state to project locations (Full Per Diem included)
Qualifications
