Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Survey Technician II in Walnut Creek, CA to support a team of surveyors and engineers during preliminary and final engineering stages. You will draft survey maps, topographic maps, and legal descriptions, and resolve CAD drawing production issues with minimal supervision.

The role involves creating accurate 3D surfaces, researching legal boundaries, and performing boundary calculations and staking. Collaboration with field crews and continued knowledge sharing are expected.

Qualifications

• 4 years of relevant experience in surveying as a technician (or equivalent) combined with a bachelor’s degree in surveying or related field, or associate's degree in land surveying, civil engineering or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes complex legal descriptions, easements, and boundary evidence from title reports and historical records.
• Prepares metes-and-bounds descriptions, Record of Surveys, parcel maps, and detailed topographic/construction drawings.
• Manages data exchange workflows between field survey crews and office production.
• Utilizes advanced CAD and GIS software for data modeling.
• Works from field notes, sketches, maps and legal descriptions to develop deliverables for boundary and topographic surveys.
