Job summary

Pennoni is hiring a Survey Technician for a full-time, direct position at our Milton, DE office. You will process survey data, monitor field crews, and prepare computations, exhibits, and maps using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

The role requires an Associate degree or certificate in Land Surveying or Engineering, with preferred experience in surveying or construction. Strong math and communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certificate in Land Surveying or Engineering preferred.
• Prior experience in land surveying, consulting, or the construction industry preferred.
• Ability and willingness to learn survey operations, principles, and practices.

Responsibilities

• Process survey data using current CAD standards; evaluate accuracy and ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable professional standards under the direction of your supervisor and a licensed professional
• Monitor field crew production and provide quality assurance support
• Research historical maps, land records, prior surveys, and title reports
• Prepare survey computations, staking/control exhibits, and crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projects
• Prepare cadastral maps, existing-conditions plans, and plats from field and office data using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Perform initial quality control of field deliverables in accordance with standards and best practices
• Coordinate with your supervisor to ensure client-specific requirements are met
• Assist as a field technician, as needed, to complete survey fieldwork
• Maintain professional, productive working relationships with clients and coworkers
• Follow established safety and security procedures
