Job summary

The Survey Technician will determine precise locations and measurements, travel daily, and may require overnight stays. Pay is $18-$20 per hour; benefits and training opportunities may vary by experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in surveying or a related field preferred.
• Training may be provided for right candidate.
• Familiarity with Topcon/Trimble equipment and Civil 3D or Carlson Survey preferred.
• College or military experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Willingness to learn and be a team player.
• Pay commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the survey team and other staff with surveying tasks as needed.
• Maintain and operate survey equipment.
• Drive to field sites; occasional overnight travel.
• Carry heavy loads and work in inclement weather.
• Perform CAD work and assist other office staff as needed.
• Contribute to boundary, topographic, ALTA, and project-related surveys as applicable.

The Survey Technician will be responsible for determining precise location and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction, map making, land division, titles, or other purposes. Experience, skills and qualifications should include:

• Seeking an experienced Survey Technician or SIT (would consider training the right candidate).
• Experience in the field of surveying or related field is preferred.
• Experience with Topcon and/or Trimble Surveying equipment and data collection, Civil 3d or Carlson Survey is preferred.
• College and/or military experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• A strong willingness to learn and be part of a team is a must.
• Pay scale commensurate with experience.

Job requires daily travel and, at times, overnight stays. The successful applicant will assist the survey team and other staff members, as needed, in the performance of surveying tasks as they relate to company projects. Duties may include survey equipment maintenance and operation, driving, carrying heavy loads, working in inclement weather, CAD and assisting other office staff as needed.

Surveying Projects may include, but not limited to, boundary surveys and project related boundary resolution, water and wastewater systems surveys, storm water management surveys, control networks and site control, topographic and site development surveys, FEMA Elevations Certificates, ALTA surveys and airport surveys.
