Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed ALTA/ACSM, boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Evaluate field data for accuracy and completeness.
• Generate surfaces from 3D polylines/points for engineering design.
• Conduct deed plotting, base map compilation, and data verification.
• Provide technical oversight to junior staff and mentor teammates.
• Ensure seamless data transfer between field and office teams.

You’ll use your Civil 3D and data management skills to ensure accuracy, support complex designs in the Raleigh, NC office, all while continuing to grow your technical influence within a collaborative, high-performing team.

About the Role

Bohler’s Raleigh, NC office is seeking aSurvey Technicianto join our growing land surveying team supporting projects throughout the Raleigh area. In this role, you’ll prepare ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, Boundary & Topographic Surveys, and As-Built drawings with minimal supervision. You’ll evaluate field work for accuracy, compile deeds and base sketches, and ensure all survey data is complete, correct, and ready for engineering design. You’ll also help guide junior technicians, sharing your expertise and upholding Bohler’s standards of precision and quality.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare detailed ALTA/ACSM, boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Evaluate and process field crew data to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Generate surfaces using 3D polylines and points for integration into engineering design
• Perform deed plotting, base map compilation, and data verification
• Conduct construction computations and provide technical oversight to junior staff when needed
• Deliver and share data seamlessly between field and office teams
• Identify and communicate technical issues or data discrepancies to leadership
• Contribute to quality assurance through careful checking and adherence to standards

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or GED required; coursework or degree in surveying, engineering, or related field a plus
• 1+ years of CAD experience in land surveying; Civil 3D proficiency required
• Strong understanding of deed compilation and data verification
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects within deadlines and budget limits
• A detail-driven mindset with a focus on Quality Control/Quality Assurance
• SIT or Level 3+ CST certification preferred
