Responsibilities

As a Full‑Time Survey Technician at Gilmore and Associates, you will set up and operate surveying equipment in the field, ensuring accurate data collection. Your day involves measuring distances, angles, and elevations, while also conducting site research to gather essential geographic information. You will collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to assist in preparing survey reports and maps based on your findings, and maintain and troubleshoot surveying tools to ensure optimal performance. Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence are crucial as you document data meticulously and support the team in delivering high‑quality results. You will explore new terrains while helping shape our engineering innovations.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or G.E.D. is essential, along with survey or design drafting experience, particularly in Civil 3D. Field experience is a plus. You must be able to prepare boundary, topographic, and as‑built survey plans, be familiar with creating surfaces and producing elevation contours, and possess strong organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD, and an understanding of land surveying principles are required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential for composing reports and interacting with professionals and public officials.
