Job summary

MasTec, Inc. in Texas seeks a Survey Tech to obtain and compute data for measuring the Earth’s features and to learn the construction layout, topographic analysis, and static measurements using GNSS methods and procedures.

You will collect field data, set GPS lath for construction, perform elevations and distances calculations, document results, and work with engineering and project teams to integrate data into plans. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in surveying, remote sensing, drafting, engineering, or related technical field preferred
• One year of survey experience in construction or operations with exposure to engineering, civil, or renewable energy activities
• Valid Drivers License Required

Responsibilities

• Collect field data using sophisticated measuring equipment
• Apply GPS equipment to set lath for construction, including center and offsets while field fitting miscellaneous items
• Operate survey instruments to capture static measurements with verified horizontal and vertical residuals
• Perform calculations to determine elevations, distances, and angles for construction projects
• Record survey measurements and descriptive data using notes, drawings, sketches, etc.
• Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to integrate survey data into project plans
• Provide regular updates on surveying progress, challenges, and solutions to site and office management
