Our services include residential, commercial, construction, and ALTA/NSPS surveys, emphasizing accurate and timely delivery for real estate transactions involving buyers, sellers, title companies, lenders, attorneys, and real estate agents.

Survey Scout Apprenticeship Position Summary

Under the supervision of an assigned Regional Field Manager, the Survey Scout is responsible for discovering property corner monuments and performing preliminary reconnaissance to prepare for survey crews. The role involves using a magnetic locator (metal detector) and a shovel to locate and expose property corners. Safe operation of a company vehicle is required, with frequent travel between job sites. Training will be provided to understand legal survey documents, including descriptions, deeds, sub-plats, and tax maps. The program aims to develop the Scout into a Survey Field Crew Chief, requiring initiative and motivation. Work is outdoors year-round in various weather conditions and involves physical activity, including lifting up to 70 pounds with assistance.

Schedule and Location

Monday through Friday, with some weekends during seasonal months. Employees start their day from home in a company vehicle. Work can be performed remotely in Columbus, Ohio, and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Work independently or in a team, demonstrating motivation and attention to detail.
• Assist in equipment and vehicle care.
• Remove debris and obstacles to facilitate scouting.
• Work overtime or weekends as needed to meet deadlines.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Provide courteous customer service when required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License meeting insurance requirements.
• Willingness to learn land surveying principles.
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
