Job summary

Pew Research Center is seeking a Research Associate to translate complex topics into accessible survey questions and rigorous analysis. You will develop questionnaires, analyze data, create charts, and help communicate findings to journalists, policymakers, and the public.

The role requires strong project management, balancing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to nonpartisanship and clarity in reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred in social sciences, survey research, statistics, public policy or related field.
• Experience in attitudinal or behavioral research related to racial/ethnic groups and/or immigration preferred.
• 5–10 years of research experience including 3–6 years in specialized survey research and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead survey design and questionnaire development from concept to fielding on race and ethnicity topics.
• Conduct rigorous analysis of survey datasets and secondary data sources.
• Write materials for reports, blog posts, presentations with tables and charts.
• Fact-check and ensure accuracy in data and materials.
• Map out and manage project plans and timelines across multiple workstreams.
• Respond to information requests and present findings to external audiences.
