DEA's Portland, OR office is searching for a Survey Project Manager whose primary focus will be managing projects and instructing survey crews and office staff in performing control, boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way, and construction surveying services related to land survey projects. DEA is dedicated to a revenue-generating survey business line, utilizing cutting-edge technology that allows us to be a leader in terrestrial, GPS, 3D laser scanning, and hydrographic surveying.
Project Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Calculating boundaries and performing QC on drawings related to topographic surveys, design mapping, ALTA surveys, platting, and construction staking calculations.
- Directing field and office staff, mentoring, and coaching them to advance within the survey profession.
- Preparing and delivering boundary analysis and determination, basic data processing, QC of raw data, processing automated linework, and simple exports for construction staking.
- Preparing proposals, developing, and managing project budgets and schedules.
- Serving as the project manager for assigned projects.
- Collaborating with Geomatics Group and Delivery Leaders to ensure resource availability.
- Providing surveying leadership and guidance to geomatics staff.
- Adhering to firmwide tools, processes, and policies including project accounting, contracting, and quality standards.
- Overseeing quality control processes.
- Coordinating with other DEA disciplines and clients.
Basic Qualifications:
- Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT)
- Ability to manage projects, communicate effectively with clients, and mentor junior staff
- 8+ years of land surveying experience
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency with Civil 3D software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Land Surveyor license in Oregon and Washington
- Familiarity with state and county mapping requirements
- Experience with Trimble Business Center
