Job summary

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) is seeking a Survey Project Manager to oversee multi-site land survey projects, manage budgets and resources, and serve as the SAM contact for clients. You will lead field and office staff, oversee deliverables, and drive proposals and business development.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in the field, a related bachelor’s degree, and strong skills in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Geopack, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry related work experience in a professional or management capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline/and or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience in project/phase management for large scale projects.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, Micro Station, Geopack, MS Office Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to define assignments/deliverables clearly.
• Ability to mentor and motivate a project team.
• Active Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS/PLS) license in TX/OK/LA is a plus.
• Experience managing surveying projects for renewable energy developments (solar, wind, BESS, data centers) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage land survey projects from start to finish, ensuring quality and client specifications.
• Develop procedures to maximize operating efficiency across projects.
• Prepare proposals, budgets, schedules, billings, and contracts.
• Sign and seal plats, field notes, and control drawings as required.
• Plan staffing and work plans for multiple projects.
• Foster client relationships and pursue business development opportunities.
• Present to clients and stakeholders on project progress.
• Coordinate with sub-consultants and other业务 relationships.
• Report financials including AR/WIP and billing cycles.
• Represent SAM at meetings and trade shows as needed.

Your Impact at SAM

A Survey Project Manager is responsible for the oversight and reporting of budgets and utilization of resources. This role is the key point of contact between SAM and clients. Survey Project Managers oversee the day-to-day operations of field staff and office staff for multiple land survey projects, including, the tracking of deliverables. They are responsible for proposal writing, business development, and staff development.

• Manage land survey projects from start to finish, while ensuring services meet company quality standards and client specifications
• Participate in planning and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency
• Develop and manage proposals, budgets, schedules, billings, and contracts
• Sign and seal plats, field notes and control drawings if required
• Establish work plans and staffing requirements for multiple land survey projects
• Participate in business development opportunities and maintain strong client relationships
• Develop and conduct presentations to clients and other critical stakeholders
• Effectively interface with sub-consultants and as well as other business relationships
• Provide support to other operational units as needed
• Manage and report financial status including AR/WIP and billing cycles
• Represent company interests while in meetings and trade shows as needed
• Perform other tasks as assigned to help accomplish the Company’s strategic goals

What You Bring to SAM

• 5+ years of industry related work experience in a professional or management capacity
• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline/and or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated experience in project/phase management for large scale projects
• Strong proficiency with or understanding of tools such as AutoCAD, Micro Station, Geopack, MS Office Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly define assignments/deliverables to team members
• Ability to oversee, mentor and motivate a project team
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and problem solve on the fly
• Ability to meet or exceed aggressive deadlines while maintaining teamwork and collaboration with others
• Active Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS/PLS) license in Texas, Oklahoma, or Louisiana is a plus.
• Experience managing surveying projects for renewable energy developments, including solar, wind, battery energy storage (BESS), and data centers, is highly preferred.
