Duties, Responsibilities & Other

The Survey Project Manager is responsible for managing projects successfully, including marketing, client development, technical quality, profitability, scheduling, staff coordination, client communication, scope and fee negotiations, billing, and collections. Maintaining strong client relationships and direct communication with the Survey Practice Leader are essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing project scope, budget, and contracts for review and approval.
  • Coordinating project schedules and conducting project meetings.
  • Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Monitoring project progress and quality assurance.
  • Managing contract amendments and client communications.
  • Serving as the primary client contact.
  • Ensuring adherence to company standards and standards compliance.
  • Documenting team performance and addressing performance issues.

Note: A Professional Land Surveyor's License is preferred.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (AEC Industry) with at least 2 years of professional experience, or 6 years of equivalent experience.
  • Participation in ongoing education and professional development.
  • Leadership potential, organizational skills, and excellent communication.
  • Technical knowledge relevant to the project.
  • Proficiency with project management software.
  • Understanding of industry standards, quality assurance, and safety protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles for budget and financial management.

Preferred:

  • Master's Degree in a related field.

Certificates/Registrations:

  • Ability to complete KCI PM Training and Contract Risk Training and pass the PM Board within 6 months.
