Job summary

Cardinal Civil Resources seeks a Project Manager to lead surveying and civil projects in Virginia. You will prepare work plans, assemble teams, manage schedules, and ensure quality and financial performance.

The role requires 3–5 years of project management and land surveying experience, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate with licensed surveyors and engineers. CST or survey apprenticeship preferred; valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or GED required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years in project management and land surveying; at least 2 years in field management.
• CSIT preferred; Carlson Civil Suites with IntelliCAD required; field crew management experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work plans, assemble project teams, delegate tasks, and ensure scope compliance and timely completion.
• Establish deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress of projects.
• Oversee scheduling of field work and manage field calendar; coordinate with survey teams.
• Review field survey results for accuracy of geometry, elevations, and dimensions.
• Perform deed and utility research; compile record maps and legal descriptions.
• Support business development and contract preparation; assist with budgeting and pricing.
• Coordinate with project managers and field coordinators on workload and scheduling.
• Collaborate with licensed surveyors, engineers, and staff to deliver projects.
