Job summary

Bowman Consulting in Safford, AZ is seeking a Survey Party Chief to lead field crews and manage surveys and geospatial data collection. You will supervise crew operations, coordinate with contractors, identify controls for property lines, and train junior staff while ensuring data quality and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in land surveying, strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and avalid driver’s license, with a focus on precision and client communication.

Qualifications

• Three or more (3+) years of experience on a land surveying party.
• Knowledge of survey data collection and field procedures.
• Familiar with property line controls and survey methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day supervision of survey field crew and mentor juniors.
• Coordinate with contractors to provide survey services.
• Identify controls for property lines and decide survey steps.
• Gather information needed for surveys and assign tasks to crew.
• Discuss work with clients as necessary.
• Perform calculations and maintain essential survey records.
• Ensure the survey truck and equipment are properly maintained.
• Communicate with management to maximize efforts and man‑hours.
