Job summary

Weaver Consultants Group in Naperville, IL seeks a Survey Party Chief to support our land surveying team with field work across Chicagoland, Northwest Indiana and Southeast Wisconsin, with occasional out-of-state projects. You will lead survey field tasks—boundary and ALTA surveys, building and construction layout, and topographies—while mentoring junior staff and representing Weaver in the field.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as a qualified crew chief.
• Flexible schedule for overtime and travel.
• FAA Part 107 certification highly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Trimble equipment or similar.

Responsibilities

• Execute survey field tasks and manage field activities.
• Boundary and ALTA surveys; building layout; topographies.
• Mentor and coach junior survey staff.
• Represent Weaver on projects in the field.

Job Details: Location: Naperville, IL 60563 | Position Type: Full Time | Salary Range: $28.00 - $40.00 Hourly | Job Shift: Day

Weaver Consultants Group is looking for a Survey Party Chief to join our land surveying department in Naperville, IL. The position will include field work, serving primarily the Chicagoland, Northwest Indiana, and Southeast Wisconsin areas with occasional out of state projects. The ideal person for this position seeks a fast paced, challenging environment, a place to grow and improve skills, and a collaborative environment that is conducive to the development of personal skills.

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibilities are the execution of survey field tasks assigned, and will include, but not be limited to, management and implementation of land surveying field activities such as:
  • Boundary and ALTA surveys.
  • Building and construction layout.
  • Topographies.
• Mentor and coach other junior survey staff.
• Represent Weaver on various projects in the field.
• Manage field data.
• Upkeep of truck and equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience as a qualified crew chief.
• Flexible schedule for overtime.
• Availability for occasional short-term travel.
• FAA Part 107 Certification highly preferred.
• Hands on experience with Trimble Survey equipment, or other types of similar equipment.
• Interest in learning UAV (drone) piloting.
