Role Description

The Survey Party Chief is a full-time, on-site role based in Denton, TX, responsible for leading a field crew in performing land surveying tasks for commercial projects. This role includes organizing daily field activities, setting up and operating survey equipment, construction staking surveys. The Survey Party Chief will ensure data accuracy, and record measurements and observations in accordance with company standards. The position also involves coordinating with project managers, communicating progress and issues, and maintaining field safety and equipment care. The individual will support quality control by verifying survey results, resolving discrepancies, and contributing to efficient project completion.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Land Surveying and Building Surveying, with experience leading field crews on commercial projects.
• Strong skills in construction layout is prefered.
• Hands-on experience with Total Station and other modern surveying instruments and data collectors.
• Knowledge of surveying standards, field procedures, and applicable local and state regulations.
• Ability to maintain accurate field notes, and ensure data quality.
• Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to direct crew members and collaborate with office staff.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions.
