The City of Anaheim Public Works Department is seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to join the Construction Services Division. The Survey Party Chief is an advanced journey-level classification responsible for the effective performance, training, and safety of all members of a field survey crew. This role is distinguished from Survey Technician I/II by its exclusive surveying duties.
Candidates must possess at least journey-level experience in field survey work and hold a California Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) Certificate. An equivalent combination of experience and training sufficient to perform the essential job functions and demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities is also acceptable.
The Construction Services Division provides high-quality, solution-oriented services in Capital Public Project Inspection, Survey, and Contract Administration, contributing to Anaheim's growth. Surveyor certification pay of $500 per year is available upon completion of a 12-month probationary period for LSIT Certification.
Experience: At least journey-level experience in field survey work or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Knowledge of: Surveying methods, legal aspects, mathematics, engineering principles, and supervision principles.
Ability to: Interpret legal descriptions, engineering plans, operate survey instruments, perform mathematical calculations, organize work efficiently, and supervise staff. Safety awareness is essential.
Valid Class C California Driver's License and California Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) Certificate are required.
