Job summary

Davis County Surveyor's Office is seeking a Surveyor Operations Manager to supervise field crews and manage office survey projects. The role oversees staff hiring, training, and performance, while ensuring compliance with county policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities include directing survey operations, maintaining the County Survey Control System, and coordinating with public/private agencies. Preference given to Utah land surveyor licensure and relevant leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, or a closely related field.
• Two years of full-time surveying experience; one year in lead or supervisory capacity.
• Preference for Utah land surveyor licensing.

Responsibilities

• Supervises survey staff, hires, on-boards and trains employees, and conducts performance appraisals.
• Develops and enforces departmental policies to maximize efficiency and safety.
• Represents the County Surveyor to public/private agencies and provides technical consultation.
• Performs field surveys using GNSS, transit, theodolite, EDM, and UAV equipment as needed.
• Prepares GIS and CAD survey plats and integrates spatial data with imagery.
